About

Hi, I’m Tomy!

I created Clinical Philosophy because I strongly believe philosophy doesn’t have to only sit in the ivory tower. Philosophy first began as a practical way to reflect on our individual experience, learn what it means to be human, and understand how we relate to the outside world. Many of life’s problems, I believe, can be solved by rational inquiry, logical analysis, and by understanding how our emotions and beliefs serve as foundations for our ability to flourish.

This approach is the result of unique personal and professional experiences. After a successful career as an entrepreneur and executive for several healthcare, marketing, and digital technologies companies, I found that professional success wasn’t all there was to my personal flourishing. I then decided to go back to graduate school to earn a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Missouri - St. Louis and pursue a Ph.D. in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, focusing on memory, emotions, and perception. During this time I became certified in Client Counseling by the American Philosophical Practitioners Association and in Logic-Based Therapy by the National Philosophical Counseling Association.

Through this education, combined with my experiences, I take a unique approach to counseling for all of my individual and group clients, and to consulting for my business clients. Ultimately, my aim is to help all of my clients flourish in ways that are positive, beneficial, and successful for them.
