FAQ

Here is a small selection of frequently asked questions we often get from prospective clients. If you have additional questions, please contact us.

What is the difference between philosophical counseling and mental health counseling?

Philosophical counseling does not aim to treat or diagnose mental illness, nor does it take the place of mental health treatment. In cases where mental illness is suspected, we will refer you to an appropriate mental health professional.

What are your fees? Do you take insurance?

Individual philosophical counseling fees begin at $50 for a half an hour session and $100 for an hour-long session, typically paid through Paypal or Venmo. Couples and group sessions have their own fees. We do not take any insurance plans. Corporate philosophical consultation fees are based on number of participants, session topic and goals, and time and travel. For more information, please contact us.

Can I make a same-day appointment?

Possibly, depending on our availability. Your best bet is to request an appointment and request a same-day appointment in the “messages” box.

Are you insured?

Yes, the services provided by Clinical Philosophy are insured by the Healthcare Providers Service Organization (HPSO).
